Five former Kansas University football standouts have been added to the KU Athletic Hall of Fame.

Added to the Hall of Fame on Tuesday: John Riggins (running back 1968-70), Nolan Cromwell (quarterback/safety 1973-76), Curtis McClinton (running back (1959-61), Mike McCormack (tackle 1948-50) and Willie Pless (linebacker, 1982-85).

All five of the newcomers will be honored with recognition ceremonies. The first to be honored will be Pless, an 11-time Canadian Football League all-star. He will be officially inducted at halftime of Saturday’s KU-Nebraska game.

“These are five outstanding individuals who have brought national distinction and honor to the University of Kansas,” said KU athletics director Al Bohl. “When you talk about the great football players of our past, these five individuals are on everyone’s list. We felt it was highly appropriate to single them out as inductees into the Hall of Fame under the special admittance category.”
