Kansas shot a second round total of 284, better than 10 other schools competing, good for a two-round total of 576 at the 6,786 yard, par-71 Stanford University Golf Course.
Washington leads with a two-round total of 552.
The University of Toledo sits in second place with a total of 560.
“We beat 10 teams today and we played better than yesterday,” KU coach Ross Randall said. “Today’s performance was also steadier than yesterday’s. We have to start making the short putts and controlling our short game better than we are doing right now.”
Sophomore Tyler Hall (141) leads all KU golfers in 13th place at even-par 71. Junior Chris Marshall (143) shot the best round for the Jayhawks on Saturday, with a two-under-par 69, moving him into a tie for 29th place.
“We are just not quite clicking yet. We are kind of like a sputtering engine that needs to get going,” said Randall. “We have to keep getting better and that will enable us to get closer to the top of the leaderboard.”
