LINCOLN, NEB. ? Fifth-ranked Nebraska dealt Kansas women’s soccer team its first Big 12 loss of the season Sunday.
Kelly Haxton and Christy Harms scored for Nebraska in a 2-0 victory. The Cornhuskers improved to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in the league. The Jayhawks, who had not been shut out this season, fell to 7-3 and 3-1.
“It was really close,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “We were in it the whole time.”
All three of KU’s losses have come against ranked teams. The Jayhawks play Friday at Texas Tech and Sunday at Colorado.
