The former director of the Williams Educational Fund has been ordered to appear Dec. 18 in Douglas County District Court for allegedly making false writings.

A warrant filed recently by the Douglas County District Attorney’s office lists three counts of making false writings against Scott McMichael. The charges come at the end of a lengthy investigation begun last summer by the Kansas University Public Safety Department into suspected fraudulent entertainment vouchers given to the KU Athletic Department.

McMichael resigned his position Aug. 10, citing family and personal reasons.

Court documents allege that McMichael made false travel expense vouchers for the following dates: Sept. 7, 2000, Jan. 30, 2001, and Aug. 2, 2001. No amounts were listed.

McMichael is to appear at 3 p.m. Dec. 18 before Douglas County Judge Paula Martin.
