CARBONDALE, ILL. ? Kansas Univerisity’s women’s cross country team placed eighth and KU’s men finished ninth Saturday in the NCAA Midwest Regional. The Jayhawks failed to secure a berth in the NCAA championships. The top two teams qualify for nationals.
KU’s women were paced by freshman Diane Disher, who ran the 6K race in 22:07.4, good for 33rd place. Mark Menefee led KU’s men with a 31st place finish in the 10k race in a time of 31:43.5.
