Two Kansas University students were selected for the 16-member committee charged with finding a new football coach for the Jayhawks.
One of the names was familiar former KU running back David Winbush. The other student selected was Amanda Leland, a sophomore on the KU rowing team.
Leland’s father is Ted Leland, the Stanford University athletics director who was hired by KU chancellor Robert Hemenway to make an analysis of the athletics department last summer.
Hemenway did not make Leland’s recommendations public, but it is believed some have been implemented and others are still under consideration.
