For the first time since 1992, Kansas University has sold out a home football game. No tickets remain for today’s Kansas-Nebraska game, which will kickoff at 6:10 p.m.
In addition to the listed capacity of 50,250, KU officials added approximately 800 temporary seats in the south and north end zones to accommodate additional fans.
It will be KU’s first sellout since the 1992 Kansas State game.
“We are going to have a lot of visitors from Nebraska dressed in red and I want to urge all Kansas fans to be in blue for the game,” KU athletics director Al Bohl said. “We need to see as much blue in Memorial Stadium on Saturday as possible.”
Attendance for KU’s four home dates this season is up by an average of nearly 10,000 fans. With home crowds of 37,500 (vs. SMS), 43,500 (vs. UCLA), 48,700 (vs. OU) and 38,500 (vs. Missouri) Kansas is averaging 42,050 this season. KU averaged 32,217 over six dates last year.
