KU women picked 11th in Big 12 media poll

Kansas University’s women’s basketball team has been tapped 11th in the Big 12 Conference Media preseason poll.

League media members agreed with the conference coaches who also tabbed Kansas 11th.

League favorite Oklahoma received 17 of 18 first-place votes and tallied 212 points. Iowa State had the other first place vote and was picked third overall with 178 points, behind runner-up Texas Tech (186).

Baylor was fourth (157) in the poll followed by Colorado (147), Texas (139), Kansas State (89), Nebraska (74), Oklahoma State (74), Missouri (72), Kansas (53) and Texas A&M (23).

Oklahoma’s Stacey Dales was selected Player of the Year. Other first-team all-league picks: Iowa State’s Angie Welle, Texas Tech’s Plenette Pierson, and Baylor’s Sheila Lambert and Danielle Crockrom.
