KU baseball signs Texas prep pitcher

Chris Jones, a 6-foot-5 left-handed pitcher from Carrollton, Texas, has signed a Kansas University baseball letter of intent.

As a junior, Jones compiled a 6-2 record with a 3.80 earned run average at Trinity Christian Academy.

KU baseball signs five to letters

Kansas University baseball coach Bobby Randall on Wednesday announced the signing of five players to national letter of intent.

The five are:

Pat Holmes, a pitcher/first baseman from San Jacinto (Texas) North JC who hit .319 with six home runs last season.

Brad Vibbard, a pitcher from Northeast Texas CC.

Catcher Beau Thompson from Westark College in Ft. Smith, Ark.

Dwayne White, a center fielder from Independence.

Devin Warner, an outfielder from Ft. Collins, Colo.
