Will Keith Langford play at the Sport2Sport/Jayhawk Invitational, or won’t he?
That is the question.
As of Tuesday night, all systems were go for Langford, a 6-foot-5 Kansas University men’s basketball signee from Crowley, Texas, to compete in the 15- to 17-year-olds’ AAU Tournament Friday to Sunday at Allen Fieldhouse, Horejsi Complex and Sport2Sport.
Langford originally was slated to play for Team Texas, a squad that decided to not attend.
He likely will play for a Sport2Sport-sponsored team and tentatively is slated to play a Friday night game at Allen Fieldhouse.
Details should be available later this week.
Langford is expected to team with fellow future Jayhawk Jeff Hawkins, a 5-11 guard from KC Sumner who will red-shirt at KU next year, then receive a scholarship the following four years.
Langford is expected to arrive at Kansas City International at 6:15 p.m. Friday, cutting it close for a possible 8 p.m. game. He is slated to fly back to Dallas at 3 p.m. Saturday just four hours ahead of North Crowley High’s prom. He’ll be back in Kansas City at 7 a.m. Sunday for the final day of the tourney.
