KU recruits finish third at state tournament

? Kansas University men’s basketball signees Aaron Miles and Michael Lee scored 22 and 20 points respectively as Jefferson High (26-3) beat Grants Pass, 84-60, in the third-place game of Oregon’s Class 4A basketball tournament Saturday.

Miles, a point guard, set a tournament record with nine steals in the contest.

In one of the biggest upsets in Oregon basketball history, Benson beat defending state champ Jefferson, 82-73, in Friday’s semifinals. Miles led Jefferson with 21 points and seven steals. Lee, a shooting guard, had 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
