Kansas University sophomore forward Nick Collison has been named first team all-Big 12 in a vote of league coaches.
KU’s Drew Gooden and Kenny Gregory were named to the coaches’ second team, while Kirk Hinrich was a third-team pick.
Collison was joined on the first team by Baylor’s Terry Black, Iowa State’s Jamaal Tinsley, Missouri’s Kareem Rush and Oklahoma State’s Maurice Baker.
It was the same all-league team as the Associated Press team released on Monday, except for one spot KU’s Collison subbing for Gooden.
Tinsley was named Player of the Year. ISU’s Jake Sullivan was freshman of the year and Larry Eustachy coach of the year. Tinsley was a unanimous pick of the coaches. Newcomer of the Year is Oklahoma State guard Maurice Baker. All-Big 12 list on page 7C.
