College Station, Texas ? Kansas women’s basketball team finished the regular season with a victory on Wednesday night, defeating Texas A&M 75-62 at Reed Arena.
Reserve post player Nikki White led Kansas with 20 points and nine rebounds both career highs. The junior, who has decided not to return to the team next year because of nagging injuries, also matched a career high with three assists.

KU has never lost to the Aggies (12-15, 2-14) in six meetings. The Jayhawks kept that streak in tact by shooting 57.9 percent (33 of 57) from the field, compared to 34.8 percent (24 of 69) for A&M.
Senior forward Brooke Reves had 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists for Kansas. Senior guard Jennifer Jackson had 12 points and five assists for Kansas, and senior forward Jaclyn Johnson had 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Jayhawks outrebounded the Aggies 41-38. Jaynetta Saunders led Texas A&M with 21 points and eight rebounds. Brandy Jones added 10 points.
Kansas’ victory, coupled with Nebraska’s 77-66 loss at Oklahoma State, gave the Jayhawks a No. 9 seed in next week’s Big 12 tournament. The Jayhawks will face eighth-seeded OSU at noon Tuesday in Kansas City’s Municipal Auditorium.
