Four KU recruits selected in MLB draft

Kansas University’s baseball team had four of its 2001 signees selected during the two-day Major League Baseball draft held earlier this week. Leading the pack was Houston native Justin Humphries, who was selected as a catcher in the 22nd round by the Houston Astros.

Aaron Ledbetter, a right-handed pitchers from Ft. Smith, Ark., was selected in the 24th round by St. Louis. Cole Armstrong, a catcher from Surrey, Canada, was drafted in the 32nd round by the New York Mets. Andrew Lytle, a right-handed pitcher from Highlands Ranch, Colo., was selected in the 43rd round by Philadelphia.
