? Five cities have submitted bids to play host to future Big 12 Conference football championship games.

Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, St. Louis and San Antonio want to be considered as the Big 12 determines the sites for the 2002-05 championship games. Those cities submitted proposals by this week’s deadline, conference officials said Thursday.

The conference expects to announce future host sites in October.

The 2001 Big 12 title game will be played Dec. 1 at Texas Stadium in Irving.

Kansas City (2000), St. Louis (1996, 1998) and San Antonio (1997, 1999) have played host to past championship games.
