KU’s women suffer tough loss to Nebraska: 73-62

By Staff     Jan 31, 2001

Coming into tonight’s game, Nebraska’s women stood at the bottom of the Big 12 standings. Now, the Jayhawks and Huskers are tied at 2-6, and share a spot just above the bottom-Kansas State’s loss tonight dropped them to 1-7, assuring the Wildcats a place in the basement.

Kansas mounted several attempts at a comeback in the second half, but just could not find the last few points when they needed them.

Kansas shot just 37% from the floor, and was out-rebounded by Nebraska 48-34. As usual, Jaclyn Johnson was the Jayhawks’s bright spot, scoring 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Jennifer Jackson added 14 points.
