This was never really much of a game. Oklahoma sprinted off to an early 23-4 lead and Kansas could not climb back into it. It wasn’t that Kansas played badly-far from it-but the Sooners just couldn’t miss. Field goal, three-pointer or free throw, nearly everything OU touched turned to points. They shot 66% from the field.
By the end of the game, OU had their deep bench players on the court against KU’s starting five. The Sooners still kept putting the ball in the net-all this despite 34 turnovers.
Jaclyn Johnson and Brooke Reves each had 16 points. Jennifer Jackson added 14. That’s the good news. The bad is that the entire rest of the team combined for only 18 more. As a team, the Jayhawks made 34% of their shots.
Kansas falls to 7-10, 1-5 in the Big 12. Next up for KU women: a road trip to Manhattan Saturday night.
