KU is 5-0 versus OU since the inaugural season of the Big 12.
KU assistant coach Joe Holladay is an OU graduate and was a guard on the Sooner basketball team from 1967-69. He averaged 7.2 points per game as a senior when OU went 7-19.
KU senior Eric Chenowith scored 24 points as the Jayhawks beat OU, 60-50, on Feb. 20, 1999 in Norman.
Senior Nolan Johnson sustained a medial collateral ligament sprain in his right knee in practice Sunday but started and played 10 minutes against Texas A&M Tuesday. Johnson, who wore a knee brace in the game, did not attempt a field goal versus the Aggies and watched the entire second half from the bench. He led the Sooners with 14 points last year versus the Jayhawks in Lawrence.
Johnson and an OU trainer both said this week he should be close to 100 percent today.
Kansas is shooting 52.5 percent from the field. That’s the second-highest percentage in the nation. Villanova is No. 1 at 52.8.
KU’s Nick Collison (63.4) and Kenny Gregory (63.0) rank 9th and 10th respectively in this week’s individual field goal percentage stats.
