Travis Jones officially was announced as Kansas University’s newest football assistant coach on Monday.
Jones, linebackers coach and defensive coordinator the last three seasons at Appalachian State, will serve as defensive line coach at KU.
He helped The Mountaineers to three straight NCAA Div. I-AA playoffs, including a 10-4 season last year, when ASU finished the season ranked fourth nationally in I-AA.
Jones played defensive line and linebacker at Georgia from 1990-94.
