Kansas University’s athletics program is ranked No. 37 overall and fourth in the Big 12 Conference by the Sporting News in its second annual survey of schools with NCAA upper division football and basketball programs.
The 115 schools are graded in four categories over a 12-month period. The categories take into consideration fan and administrative support, gender equity, graduation rates and victories.
Stanford, Michigan State and North Carolina ranked 1-2-3 respectively.
In the Big 12, Iowa State was 7th, Texas 19th, Nebraska 27th, Kansas 37th, Kansas State 47th, Missouri 57th, Oklahoma State 59th, Oklahoma 62nd, Texas A&M 71st, Colorado 80th, Texas Tech 86th and Baylor 97th.
