LINCOLN, NEB. ? Kansas University’s women’s basketball team, fresh off its biggest win of the season, will travel to Nebraska tonight.
Tipoff for KU-NU is 7:05 p.m. at the Devaney Center.
Kansas, which stunned then-No. 6 Iowa State, 69-61, on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse, lost to the Huskers, 73-62, on Jan. 31 in Allen Fieldhouse.
KU enters 10-14 overall, 4-9 in the Big 12, while Nebraska which has won four straight and five of six is 11-15 and 3-10.
Casey Leonhardt, a 6-foot-5 senior, is the only Husker starter whose scoring average is in double digits.
Leonhardt leads NU with 13.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
NU has won six of the last seven games against KU and hasn’t lost to Kansas in Lincoln since 1997.
In the teams’ last meeting, KU went scoreless for 6:19 in the first half and its second-half rally fell short.
Jaclyn Johnson led the Jayhawks in the last KU-NU game with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Jennifer Jackson added 14 points for the Jayhawks.
Shannon Howell led the Cornhuskers with 18 points, while Leonhardt added 16.
KU will play host to Missouri on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse, the Jayhawks’ final home game this season. Tipoff for KU-MU will be 2:05 p.m.
