Ames, Iowa ? Kansas senior Charlie Gruber placed third in the mile at the ISU Classic on Saturday. Gruber finished in 4:02.11, his second best time of the season.
Also, senior Andy Tate placed eighth in the 3,000 in 8:17.74.
Junior Ryan Speers placed seventh in the shot put with a toss of 57-5, while All-American Scott Russell finished in 16th.
