Jackson could hit 1,000-point mark

? Kansas University’s women’s basketball team could get its third 1,000-point career scorer as early as today.

Senior guard Jennifer Jackson enters today’s game against Missouri (3:05 p.m., Hearnes Center) needing just 12 points to reach the 1,000-point mark. Senior Jaclyn Johnson became the school’s 15th member of the 1,000-point club earlier this season, and senior Brooke Reves joined the club in KU’s 70-60 loss to Colorado on Wednesday.

Today’s game will be televised live locally on cable channel 50.

Missouri (14-7 overall, 5-5 Big 12) is led by Amanda Lassiter, a 6-foot-1 senior forward who averages 19.8 points per game. Marlena Williams, a 6-1 senior forward, adds 12.2 points per game. Kansas (9-12, 3-7) is led by its three seniors. Johnson leads KU with 16.3 ppg and is followed by Reves (14.2 ppg) and Jackson (10.3 ppg).
