Kansas sophomore Drew Gooden will miss at least three games because of a right wrist injury.
Gooden still has some tenderness in the wrist from a fall he took in the KU-Texas game a week ago. X-rays have been taken and they have shown no broken bones.
However, the wrist has been placed in a cast. After a full week in the cast the doctors feel they will be in a better position to make any further decisions if they need to be made.
“This is a tremendous blow to our basketball team and to Drew personally,” KU coach Roy Williams said. “These things do happen in athletics, however, and everyone will just have to step up their game to make up for this loss.”
Gooden practiced on Friday with his wrist taped, but had discomfort, leading to the decision, which was made today.
Gooden, 6-10 from Richmond, Calif., is second on the team in scoring at 15.6 ppg.
