Farmers Branch, Texas Kansas University’s Rodrigo Echagaray and Eleazar Magallan knocked off the nation’s third-ranked doubles team Friday night, advancing to the consolation bracket finals of the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoors Championships.
Echagaray and Magallan defeated Florida’s Olivier Levant and Nathan Overholser, 6-3, 6-2 in the consolation semifinals. The Jayhawks will face UCLA’s Jean-Noel Ginda and Jean-Julien Rojer in today’s consolation finals.
Echagaray and Magallan had stunned 10th-ranked Cody Hubble and Jarin Skube of Texas A&M on Thursday.
