Kansas University’s football team might not be playing in a postseason bowl game this year, but three Jayhawks have been selected for all-star games.
Linebacker Algie Atkinson and offensive tackle Justin Hartwig have been tapped for the Blue-Gray Classic at 11 a.m. today in Montgomery, Ala.
Atkinson became KU’s all-time leader in sacks this season, finishing his career with 23 after 10 this season. Hartwig started every game the last three seasons at right tackle.
Defensive tackle Nate Dwyer, a first-team coaches’ All-Big 12 selection, will be playing in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 26 in Mobile, Ala. Kickoff is 4 p.m. Dwyer had 51 tackles with nine tackles for a loss, including three sacks.
