Media Day: Allen wants to win for the fans

By Staff     Aug 9, 2001

During his 2001 Media Day press conference, Head Coach Terry Allen declared that a winning tradition will return to Kansas Football. Both Allen and new Athletic Director Al Bohl talked about how winning more games and filling the stadium are complimentary goals.

When asked if he feels additional pressure to produce a winning season, Allen responded that he did, but not for his own sake. “The purpose of being sucessful is not from the essence of job security for Terry Allen,” he stated. Instead, he wants to win for “the guys who are out on the field,” and for the people in the stands.

The Jayhawks’ first home game is September 1, against Southwest Missouri State.
