Shortly after establishing a Kansas University softball single-season home run record, Leah Tabb suffered a shoulder injury, that might keep her out of Wednesday’s doubleheader at Creighton.
“I’m not real worried about it,” KU coach Tracy Bunge said. “I’m worried about Wednesday, but I think she’ll be OK by this weekend.”
Tabb, a junior from Oklahoma City, homered in her first at-bat of Saturday’s twinbill sweep at Iowa State. It was her 10th of the season, eclipsing the record nine hit by Bunge in 1986 and Shannon Stanwix in 1999.
Bunge also hopes outfielder Shelly Musser, who has missed the last seven games with a shoulder injury, will also be ready for this weekend’s series against Oklahoma.
