Kansas University basketball signee Wayne Simien of Leavenworth on Friday was named winner of the DiRenna Award which goes to the best boys basketball player in the Kansas City area. Simien, who averaged 20 points and 10 boards, was selected by the Greater Kansas City Basketball Coaches Association.
