Ostertag sued by woman

? Greg Ostertag has been sued by a woman who said she suffered serious injury after a crowd trampled her while trying to dodge water that the Utah Jazz center sprayed on attendees of a charity event.

Jackie Baum of Salt Lake County is seeking unspecified damages in the lawsuit. Baum said she required knee surgery after the July 15 incident, which took place at Ostertag’s Jazz teammate Bryon Russell’s charity softball game.

According to the lawsuit, Baum was standing in an aisle at Franklin Covey Field when Ostertag turned the water on the crowd, which fled up the steps and ran over her. Baum claims she smashed her knee on the stairs when she was trampled.

The lawsuit says Ostertag “owed a duty to use reasonable care to avoid causing injury to Baum and other spectators.”

Ostertag, a former Kansas player, called the suit ridiculous.
