Kansas University’s men’s golf team holds a commanding 21-stroke lead over Missouri after the first round of the 13-team Kansas Invitational at Alvamar.
KU placed six golfers in the top 10.
Senior Conrad Roberts shot rounds of 73 and 70 for a 1-under total of 143. He’s one stroke back of leader Gibby Martens of Texas San Antonio, who shot 69-73142.
KU’s Chris Marshall, Travis Hurst and Andy Stewart are in third, fourth and fifth respectively.
“It’s going to be a real battle for the individual title,” KU coach Ross Randall said. “It’s going to be interesting coming down the stretch.”
The tournament concludes today.
