A little rain and cold temperatures did not spoil basketball recruit Chuck Hayes’ visit to Kansas University last weekend.
“Did it rain? He didn’t mention the rain,” Hayes’ dad, Charles, said Monday night, giving a thumbs up to his son’s official campus visit to Mt. Oread.
Hayes, a 6-foot-6 forward from Modesto, Calif., did not commit to KU and still plans to visit UTEP this weekend, plus St. Louis (Oct. 6), Kentucky (Oct. 13) and Pepperdine (Oct. 20).
KU remains at or near the top of the player’s list.
“He didn’t like one particular thing. He likes all the coaches, the players,” Charles Hayes said. “His hotel room was decorated. They gave him a nice dinner and breakfast.”
Hayes is expected to pick a school sometime in October. “Kansas has always been one of the leaders,” Hayes said. “Chuck likes Kansas a lot.”
