UCLA will play Kansas University in football at Memorial Stadium next fall. Both schools were scheduled to announce the Sept. 8, 2001, game next Tuesday, but the cat slipped out of the bag at Friday afternoon’s meeting of the KU Athletics Corp. board.
KU will fill an opening in UCLA’s schedule caused last summer when Missouri canceled a home-and-home series. KU won’t return a game to UCLA because, as reported by the Journal-World last month, the Bruins’ schedule is full through 2008. KUAC on page 4C.
