Kansas golfers in sixth place

? Kansas University’s men’s golf team is tied for sixth place after Friday’s first round of the Nelson-Stanford Invitational.

The Jayhawks, who finished ninth in the tournament last year, are tied with Alabama at 288 and trail team leader Duke by eight strokes.

Senior Conrad Roberts led all Jayhawk golfers with a 69 and is in a five-way tie for second place. Junior Travis Hurst is tied for seventh at 70.
