? The Kansas University soccer team battled to a 2-2 tie with North Texas in double overtime on Friday. The tie snapped KU’s three-game losing streak.

KU (7-9-1) hit the North Texas goal four times in the second overtime but could not put the ball in the net. On one attempt, midfielder Meghann Haven’s shot was deflected by Eagles’ goalkeeper Monica Housden, glanced off the underside of the cross bar and landed on the safe side of the goalline.

“We should have won,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “It wasn’t bad finishing. We just weren’t lucky.”

Pardis Brown and Colleen Colvin scored KU’s goals.

The Jayhawks return to Big 12 action Sunday at Baylor. A victory would improve KU’s chances of qualifying for the league tournament, which will be played Nov. 1-4 at Waco, Texas.
