ST. CHARLES, MO. ? Kansas freshman Travis Hurst won the individual golf medalist honors title at the Purina Classic, which concluded Tuesday.
Hurst shot rounds of 72-67-67 for a one-stroke victory over Missouri’s Mark McBride. As a team, KU placed third in the 15-team event held at Missouri Bluffs Golf Club.
The Jayhawks, who are currently ranked 12th in the latest Sagarin College Golf Team Rankings, finished six strokes behind team leader Baylor.
Sophomore Chris Marshall finished in tied for eighth at 67-7570-142 while senior’s Conrad Roberts and Casey Harbour finished tied for 30th and 39th respectively.
