Kansas University’s football team has lost another assistant coach.
A day after KU coach Terry Allen announced the dismissal of aides Ardell Wiegandt and Walt Klinker, Allen announced Todd Middleton, who worked as linebackers coach for three years and tight ends coach last season, has resigned.
“I want to be clear that Todd has coached well throughout the time that he has been here at KU and the decision to leave the team is his and not mine,” Allen said. “I have not asked him to leave the team and, if the choice were mine, I would have him stay on the staff next year.”
Prior to coming to KU, Middleton worked at Chowan Junior College (1991), West Virginia Wesleyan (1992), Arizona (1993), Army (1994), Princeton (1995) and Northern Illinois (1996).
“I’d been thinking about it for a while, and I just felt it was time to move on and make some changes in my life,” Middleton said.
