Minneapolis ? Kansas University junior Carrie Kirkham had the fastest 50-yard freestyle preliminary times in a field of 49 swimmers Friday on the first day of the Minnesota Invitational.
Kirkham finished in 23.47 seconds. The event continues today and Sunday.
