Lubbock, Texas ? Lubbock, Texas Texas Tech drubbed Kansas in Big 12 volleyball on Wednesday, cruising to a 15-1, 15-5, 15-11 victory at the United Spirit Arena.
KU, now 14-11 overall and 5-11 in the Big 12, had won two in a row before the loss to Texas Tech (21-6, 9-6).
“We struggled out of the gates tonight,” KU coach Ray Bechard said. “Texas Tech really overmatched us. It looked like we were ready to go, but we didn’t respond.”
Senior outside hitter Amy Myatt had 11 kills to lead the Jayhawks. Outside hitter Nancy Bell had eight kills.
“It took us a game and a half to get organized,” Bechard said. “It was disappointing, but we didn’t have an answer for them tonight.”
KU will play host to Kansas State at 7 p.m. Saturday.
