Kansas has been tapped the top men’s basketball team in the Big 12 Conference in a vote of league media members.
The Jayhawks totaled 258 points and 17 first-place votes. Runner-up Oklahoma had 235 points and four first-place votes.
Missouri, with one first-place vote, placed third, followed by Texas, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Colorado and Nebraska (tie), Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor and Kansas State.
The media tapped KU’s Nick Collison and Drew Gooden first-team all-league, along with Iowa State’s Jamaal Tinsley, Missouri’s Kareem Rush and Nebraska’s Kimani Ffriend.
KU’s Eric Chenowith and Kenny Gregory were on the list of players receiving two or more votes.
