SAN ANTONIO ? Kansas held top seed Nebraska scoreless in the first half, but the Cornhuskers posted a 4-0 victory over the Jayhawks in the first round of the Big 12 Conference soccer tournament on Wednesday.
“I think we played very well in the first half and to start the second half,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “I was proud of them today and how we played, but we just did half the job.”
The loss ended KU’s season with a 7-11-2 record. The Huskers improved to 19-1-0 and moved into today’s semifinals against Baylor.
Big 12 Player of the Year Christine Latham put NU on top 1-0 at 53:59. Latham added another goal at 65:27. Two Nebraska reserves, Lindsey Greenwood and Christy Harms, posted the last two goals.
