KU snares silver medal at regional

? Kansas University’s first varsity four boat won the silver medal at Sunday’s Central Region championships at Lake Melton.

Kansas placed second in 6:33.7, three-tenths of a second behind Clemson.

Members of that boat: Angie Kratochvil, Stacie Frain, Caren Nies, Alane Thomas and Ali Brox.

Kansas won the first varsity eight and second varsity eight petite finals. KU’s second varsity eight finished in 6:55.5, ahead of Notre Dame (7:02.3). The first varsity eight finished in 6:43.1 to Clemson’s 6:50.4.

KU’s first varsity eight boat consists of Nikia Rosenberger, Risa Petty, Tara Lynn, Heather Muir, Abby Rosdahl, Sarah Canfield, Laura Hubert, Keesha Cravens and Lettie Ebbs. The second varsity eight boat: Jen Page, Kristi Dubiel, Galina Levin, Jen VanRuyven, Erin Harrington, Andrea Buch, Ellen Remising, Shannon Gribbin and Dana Parson.
