SACRAMENTO, CALIF. ? Kansas University’s Charlie Gruber will compete in both the 800 and 1,500 at this week’s Olympic Trials.
Gruber, a senior distance runner from Arvada, Colo., will compete in the 1,500 prelims at 9 p.m., Central time, Friday. The finals will be held at 12:20 p.m. Sunday.
The first round of the 800 is 7:07 p.m., July 20. The second round is 6:35 p.m. Friday, July 21. The finals will be held at 3 p.m. July 23.
“I am excited because he is on a roll as far as his running and is very confident at this point,” said former KU coach Gary Schwartz, who will attend the Trials. “I truly believe that he has not run his best race in either event yet.”
KU junior Andrea Branson will compete in the women’s pole vault on July 22. The finals are July 23. Kansas graduate Pat Manson will compete in the men’s pole vault prelims on Friday. The finals are Sunday.
