Kansas University senior Kenny Gregory, who has missed the past three men’s basketball games because of a stress fracture in his right foot, practiced on Monday.
“Today, (doctors) released him to do some things,” KU coach Roy Williams said. “We tried to get 25 percent of the practice out of him. We did the dummy stuff with him, then we let him go one or two possessions in all of our other stuff.”
Gregory is hoping to play in Saturday’s Kansas-Ohio State game, set for 3 p.m. in Gregory’s hometown of Columbus, Ohio.
The Jayhawks, who practiced for two hours, 15 minutes on Monday, will do running and shooting drills today and Wednesday as final exams continue, then come back with hard practices Thursday and Friday.
Williams is hitting the road recruiting the next couple of days, hoping nasty weather won’t prevent him from getting back to practice Thursday.
