Lubbock, Texas ? Kansas was stuck in last place for the second straight day of the Big 12 Conference women’s golf championships Saturday at Lubbock Country Club.
Kansas had a two-day score of 648 and trailed 11th place Kansas State by four strokes going into today’s final 18 holes.
After a first day in which not a single KU golfer broke 80, Sarah Mahoney carded a 78 and Sue Tessary and Carrie Padden both logged 79s on Saturday. Ashely Bishop and Tiffany Kruggel each shot an 85.
Oklahoma State and Texas were tied for first place with identical 598 scores going into the final round. Oklahoma was just a stroke back at 599.
Amelia Moses of Missouri held a one-stroke edge over Jennifer James of Oklahoma, Sarah Sasse of Nebraska and Emma Zackrisson of Oklahoma State in the race for medalist honors.
