Kansas defeats Long Beach State, 88-80

FINAL: KU holds off Long Beach State, 88-80
Thomas Robinson scored 26 points to go with 14 rebounds, leading the Kansas men's basketball team to an 88-80 victory over Long Beach State on Tuesday night.
Robinson made 10 of 14 shots, which included an 8-for-8 performance in the first half.
A James Ennis three-pointer cut KU's lead to 84-80 with 44 seconds left, but two free throws each from Tyshawn Taylor and Jeff Withey helped KU close out the win.
Withey finished a block short of a triple-double, ending with 13 points, 13 rebounds and nine blocks.
KU won despite 22 turnovers, with 16 of those coming in the second half. The Jayhawks were also foul-prone, surrendering 37 free throws.
Conner Teahan (14), Taylor (12) and Travis Releford (10) added double-figure scoring.
KU (6-2) will play host to Ohio State at 2:15 p.m. Saturday.

It's not "throwing" elbows, when you can't help but strike someone with your elbow because they are literally bear-hugging you around the waist.

What was the LBS coach complaining about with Self! They were more dirty underneath. They got what they wanted to put out!

Mine too. Hilarious. It worked... Hell, one time I must have ran sprints for an hour. I darn sure didn't do that again!

This year begins a drought that may last at least two more recruiting classes. We've got to stop recruiting kids that are great on the court and lousy in the classroom.

Although I am not proud for the sloppy ball handling and passing but we just need to keep improving. Bill Self knows how to get his teams to play better come conference play.

I am proud of our guys for the close wins they have grinded out. No thanks to a missed call on a travel against Duke and we have been ending games pretty well.

I was just about to type how KU was going to end up winning by 10+ against a good team, while surviving a poor 2nd half... and then that happened...

Well, this is a game that hopefully will help in March, but don't know how this will effect us on Saturday.
