_After each KU football game this season, this is where you can find out the gridiron equivalent of The Nielsen Ratings from Journal-World sports editor Tom Keegan. He’ll rate the Top 10 Jayhawk individual performances, telling you who was worth tuning in to watch. If you agree or maybe even differ, make sure to comment and tell Tom how you really feel. (Scoring: Each week, the top player in the ratings will be awarded 10 points. Second-best gets nine points. Third-best gets eight points, and so on and so on. The season standings are at the bottom.)_**1. Daymond Patterson:** A freshman, he returned four punts for 135 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown that will be replayed until the end of time. He also caught three passes for 22 yards. **2. Dezmon Briscoe:** Wide open in the corner of the end zone, Briscoe leaped for a high Todd Reesing pass and managed to keep his feet in bounds for his third touchdown reception, thus fulfilling an easy prediction [here][1], [here][2] and [here][3]. **3. Alonso Rojas:** Easing fears, Rojas kicked field goals of 47 and 37 yards and averaged 46 yards on three punts. **4. Kerry Meier:** Caught nine passes and showed a knack for running routes just long enough to get the first down. **5. Mike Rivera:** Typically active, Rivera got into the backfield consistently. **6. Jake Laptad:** Had two sacks, including a huge one on fourth down early in the game. **7. Phillip Strozier: **The team’s nickel back, Strozier intercepted two touchdowns. **8. Caleb Blakesley:** Two of his six tackles were for losses. **9. Kendrick Harper:** Covered well and played a physical game, contributing four tackles . **10. Todd Reesing:** Not quite as sharp as usual, Reesing was able to get the ball off quickly to avoid a pretty consistent pass rush.**The Keegan Ratings: Season Standings (total points)** **1. **Daymond Patterson (10 points) **2.** Dezmon Briscoe (9 points) **3.** Alonso Rojas (8 points) **4.** Kerry Meier (7 points) **5. **Mike Rivera (6 points) **6. **Jake Laptad (5 points) **7.** Philip Strozier (4 points) **8. **Caleb Blakesley (3 points) **9. **Kendrick Harper (2 points) **10. **Todd Reesing (1 point) [1]: http://www2.kusports.com/news/2008/aug/27/welcome_back_how_will_big_12_schools_fare_week_one/ [2]: http://www2.kusports.com/keegan/2008/week1/ [3]: http://www.thedriveshow.com/
