This year our mens b-ball team won't lose a game. We have too much game for anyone to touch us. I think the one game we might have trouble with is the Texas game. Other than that if we lose then there is something wrong. The title is ours to lose.

Hey scoot, i agree the title is ours to lose, but don't think we wont get everyones best game. memphis, ucla, tex, ok and the tiggers will give us all we want. also, remember that we have new guys that are untested that will play major minutes for us this year, in other words, dont get cocky. pop

LAHawk11- How about a conference title, number 1 seed and trip to Indy. Who cares if we lose a few. It is tough enough to win a national championship and that is the expectation from most/maybe all KU fans this year. Now we are going to add the burden of an undefeated season?

I'll take it. Pass the Kool-aid. North Carolina can get that close with the soft ass team they field, and we are more disciplined and play better defense than just about any team in the country.
It's ok for fans to get Cocky. We are just fanatics. Let's face it, we shouldn't lose.... We will be the favorite in every game we play. If we don't get there reasonably unblemioshed then something IS wrong.
2005- illinois came 1 game from uneafeted regular season playing three guards and two undersized post players at each position. they were the last team to get that far.....
Dee Brown*
Deron Williams*
Luther Head*
Roger Powell*
James augustine*
They had reasonably no bench that year, McBride who gradumuated a couple back was their bench player....
Sherron's dee with Muscles.
Tyshawn's the same type of guard Deron was in college ( if he plays that way int he pros look out )
x / Brady/ Mario- all bring varying differences to their games ( something illinois did not have )
Marcus Morris - Taller, more athletic, faster version of Roger Powell
Aldrich - dominant post presence
McBride as a sophomore was akin to Travis Releford.
Nick Smith was Jeff Withey without talent and anger issues.
James Ingram was Markieff morris witout the ability to play extended minutes.
NO comparison for CJ Henry, Elijah Johnson, Mario Little ( who i believe is ALSO better than roger Powell ), thomas Robinson....etc etc etc.....
They lost 2 game that year.... On the road in Ohio State ( by a 30 foot three point by a 6'8 white kid who was below average on the year..... ) and to North Carolina in the FInals by 7 ? NOpe 5. 75-70.
Illinois almost won the national championship with 3 great guards and no front court , they went 38-2 that year......
With 4 great guards, 6 talented forwards and two 7 footers on the post.... AS fans we SHOULD have our expectations sky high......

I agree with DHWhawk, don't get cocky. As fans, we can't get cocky because... We end up looking like cocky jacka**es when/if we fall short of expectations (and you don't want to be looked at as a Kentucky fan right?). It will be a challenge for Coach Self to find minutes for all of the talent we have and keep everyone happy. As you should know, team chemistry is huge if you want to win a national championship. I expect us to lose at least 2 games this year. We will be getting everyone's best shot and it will take quite some time for us to work out a rotation of some kind and for everyone to learn their new roles on the team. I hope we win it all, but I've seen a lot more surprising things than this team not winning the national championship. All it takes is one loss in March and all these expectations are smashed.

I'm not for spreading to other boards and posting arrogantly, that's just wrong. I don't care about Michigan State's post boards. I care about MIchigan State. If Michigan State posters wanna say what the hell they want, Let'em. No one needs to tell them they are good. They know it. No one needs to tells us, but we deserve the right to speak our minds.
This is why I want Tyshawn First off the bench. So the game comes around and Sherron doesn't have it, we can go to Tyshawn who most undoubtedly will. they Work well together, but can be a championship tandem when they spot each other. National Championship teams rarely get by with having just 1 stellar point guard. North Carolina did it without even a consistantly good one, because they had so much general talent.... IE, they always inevitably wore down teams first lines over the course of the game. Leaks sprung. nothign could stop it. They are the exception to the rule, not the rule. We had three primary ball controllers in '08. Florida had 2 guys. Unc ran the ball through felton and McCants. Uconn used AJ Price, Marvin Williams and Rudy gay.
Tyshawn's going to bring the ball up, so is Sherron. As the season progresses, I also expect Xavier will too. The more people we have that can successfully run Bill's O, penetrate the lane dump off shots to Tyrel, Brady, Cole, Marcus, 'Kieff, etc, the better chance we have of going -0. The Defense will be there, that is understood playing for Self.
Untouchable's right. We are going to be the favorite everytime we walk on the court, we are always going to see everyone's A game. Isn't the Favorite expected to win?

Xavier will never bring the ball up the court...be can handle the ball but trust me he will never do it because Self is not a coach that lets his 6'6 wing bring the ball up the court...plus we have plenty of guards to bring the ball up...and if Xavier brings the ball up it takes away from him being affective on offense...it will be Sherron, Tyshawn, EJ, CJ, Brady, or Tyrel.
And I want us to win every game but I think it helps to lose a game or two...because if you win every game then you sometimes lose focus or get too arrogant...But there is only one team that could give us a ton of trouble on our schedule and that's UT...But I still don't see us losing to them...we will be a good defensive team this year and UT lacks 3-point shooting...Now that they don't have Abrhams they are going to rely on getting the ball inside and driving to the basket and I can't see a team being successful trying to do that against KU...Im sure there will be a set back though, this is a young team still and there will be mistakes so I dont think we will go undefeated, but I certainly hope we do.
