The top three teams in college basketball held onto their spots in the final Associated Press Top 25 poll of 2020 on Monday, with Gonzaga, Baylor and Kansas making up the top three for the second week in a row.

The Jayhawks (8-1 overall, 2-0 Big 12) played just once since moving into the No. 3 spot on Dec. 21, knocking off West Virginia at Allen Fieldhouse in a top-10 showdown before break.

KU’s victories in its first two games on the Big 12 schedule came against ranked teams, and the Jayhawks are slated to take on another highly ranked conference foe when they open play in 2021, with No. 8 Texas coming to Allen Fieldhouse for an 11 a.m. tipoff on Saturday.

The Longhorns, who have been one of the stories of the first month of the college basketball season, are 7-1 overall, 1-0 in Big 12 play, and they jumped two spots to No. 8 in this week’s poll.

Baylor, which is 6-0 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play, maintained its spot at No. 2 and picked up two first-place votes. Gonzaga, which is the only team other than Kansas to have four wins over ranked teams so far this season is 7-0 and received 62 first-place votes.

West Virginia (7-2, 1-1) dropped two spots to No. 9 after its loss to KU, giving the Big 12 four teams in the AP top 10 for the second week in a row. Texas Tech (7-2, 1-1) jumped two spots from No. 15 to No. 13 this week, after responding to its home loss to Kansas in the Big 12 opener with a tough, two-point win at Oklahoma last Tuesday.

Four Big Ten teams follow Texas Tech in this week’s poll, from Nos. 14-17, giving the Big Ten nine teams in this week’s Top 25.
