Happy Belated Signing Day!

Yeah, it's old news. But Mark Mangino speaking publicly in the offseason is a rarity, so everyone shows up when it does happen.Mangino spoke for about 25 minutes today, mostly about the 2008 signing class which inked letters of intent last week. Among the highlights: - They like Jocques Crawford. A lot. When asked if Crawford will step right in and possibly be an every-down running back, he replied "You don't go after transfers for them to sit around and learn the system."That might be telling of Nathan D'Cunha and Rod Harris, as well. - Speaking of D'Cunha, I'll get into this more in Thursday's Journal-World, but there's still debate as to whether he will be a sophomore or junior in 2008, due to international competition he played in before starting college. As for his role at KU, look for him to compete for one of the vacant starting jobs at offensive tackle. - Mangino on Wichita North defensive tackle Darius Parish, who's 6-foot-4, 330 pounds: "His quickness is uncanny for a guy his size."- Punter Alonso Rojas won't be trying his luck as a kicker. That looks to go to freshman Stephen Hoge. When asked if Hoge was the guy at kicker, Mangino quipped, "He better be."- Away from the recruiting front, Mangino disclosed Wednesday that spring practice would start on March 12 and finish with the spring game on Saturday, April 12.- Mangino was also asked about his health in his first meeting with the media since going to Lawrence Memorial Hospital last month."I feel great, I feel terrific," Mangino said. "I'm absolutely fine. There's a lot of nosy people that interpret things that they shouldn't. But I'm absolutely fine. I'm healthy as a horse."

Heathly as a horse? What kind of horse is what I'm wondering. Jeez! He best get a 2nd opinion. Hey, I love M&M just as much as the next guy, but don't let your initials emanate your body shape.

Emanate?
intransitive verb : to come out from a source transitive verb : emit

I think you meant "represent."

Pretty sure you haven't seen his medical records.

Emanate as a verb yes, same as radiate. Or "emit"

Or "give off"

Didn't know we had the Grammar Police on what is essentially a blog, but that's cool.

Free to critique just as we're free to have an opinion. Gotta love the US of A.

Hopefully D'Cunha and Crawford will be a force. Still its hard to replace guys like Collins and McAnderson. Crawford may have twice as much talent as BMac but BMac had as much love for the game and love for the program as anyone. On the bright side, we dominated in our first year of the spread offense, so that speaks well for bringing in transfers in that our offense is so good and so well coached that with the right guys, it's almost plug-and-play.

Actually that wouldn't be the grammar police as much as it is the vocabulary police.

Post again. You'll get one right eventually. ;)

It refers to grammar when it is context or how vocabulary is used in a sentence regarding verbage.

You're getting closer, but now you have a hanging pronoun with the use of "it."

The actual highlight was Big Mago's comment about Kale Peck. If you watch film of the kid, he makes NFL throws as a high school junior. He is accurate with a great touch and tremendous arm strength who happens to be a very good athlete on top of it. Like Kerry Meir, Mago may have to find ways to get Peck on the field next season.

If Pick is smart he will accept a redshirt next year, play backup his reshirt freshman year, and have the possibility of being "the guy" for 3 years.

IMO
